Patricia Mahon Obituary

Patricia Marie McMahon was born May 19, 1951 in La Grange, IL to Arthur and Francis McMahon. In 1974 she left Chicago with three friends and headed west. She hoped that the warm weather and lack of humidity would alleviate the symptoms of her RA, which she had been diagnosed with in 1973. An invitation to a neighborhood barbecue across the street led to a 47 year marriage with Joseph Mahon that began on August 12, 1978. They had one beautiful daughter, Allison, born in 1986. Pat worked as a respiratory therapist as long as her body would allow and then toured the country as a "model" for surgeons learning the signs and symptoms of RA. Her contributions led to many advancements in the field. She spent a decade traveling the world with Joe, Allison, and son-in-law Jake, before settling down to 3 grandkids in 2 years, Claire, and twins Colt and Case. Although distinct in appearance, she always confused the twins, but she lived for her grandkids and family. After a hard fought but beautiful life, Pat left this world a better place on September 8, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother Michael "Mike" McMahon. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Joe, daughter Allison (Jake), brother Tim McMahon, and all the accompanying family members, too many to name, but all blessed by Pat's journey on this earth. Her quiet smile and ever positive attitude will be forever etched in Heaven for every life she touched. There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday December 6th at 10:00 at St. Thomas in the Foothills.
