Glyvelle Henderson Obituary

Glyvelle Hailey Henderson, 70, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and formerly of Altavista and Lynchburg, died Monday, April 6, 2009 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was the wife of Jerry P. Henderson. She was born in Hurt, Virginia, June 12, 1938, a daughter of the late Odie E. Hailey and Bernice Adams Hailey. She attended Altavista Church of Christ and was a homemaker. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jerry G. Henderson and his wife, Melody, of Benton, Arkansas and Mark Henderson and his wife, Linda, of Kingwood, Texas; two daughters, Tonya H. Wakefield and her husband, Joe, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Rhonda H. Diamond and her husband, Robert, of Grass Valley, California; a sister, Marion Stone and her husband, Gordon, of Moorehead City, North Carolina, a sister-in-law, Cornelia Hailey, of Roanoke, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Susan Alm, Sarah Perez and her husband, Jonathan, Jack Wakefield, Robert Wakefield, Kylie Henderson, Jill Reid, Mitchell Henderson and Sam Henderson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Hailey, and Raymond Hailey and two sisters, Mildred Compton and Letty Dalton. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009 in The Altavista Church of Christ by Lory Brafford, with interment to follow in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
