Gordon Price Obituary

Gordon Price
April 9, 2025

Gordon "Guado" Price passed away on Wednesday April 9 at 83 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He stood his post and fought to the end. Gordon, born in Honolulu, was raised in California. He was educated at Cate School in California and later Colorado College in Colorado Springs. While at Colorado College, he made a lot of great lifelong friends, but most importantly, it's where he met his wife of 57 years, Marta, who passed away earlier this year.

Gordon was an avid golfer, fisherman and pheasant hunter. He was a voracious reader and crossword puzzle whiz. He also had many skills and copious esoteric knowledge that he loved to share. He never ceased endeavoring to pass his passions and knowledge to his three children Brandy (Gretchen), Jo (Andy), and Tim (Angela) and his three grandchildren Jack, Amelia, and Tessa. Gordon, a devoted and unwaveringly supportive older brother, is survived by his sister Cathryn and brother Courtney, and was preceded in death by his sister Judy.

Gordon, a lifelong entrepreneur, had many successful ventures but none made him as proud, although he was too humble to admit it, as the founding of the Bank at Broadmoor with his business partner Blakemore McCarty. Gordon was a kind and generous man, giving back through both community service and quiet philanthropy.

Gordon requested a private service and casting ceremony at his favorite spot in the Colorado mountains.

B´Wana in generosity, mentorship, exemplary behavior, and so many other ways. A man I try to model my life after. Thanks for all of you´ve done for my family, friends and me-especially the 3am rides to Kansas and the life lessons learned on our way to your ranch. Simply the best!!!

Marta and Gordon generously let us borrow their suburban suv so we could go ski at Vail while we were visiting Bama in February. This week has been and continues to be our precious family reunion week:)
Thank you Mr and Mrs Price for having the courage to let Gods undeserved Love flow through you:)
We will see you again in Heaven, in Gods perfect time: say hi to Jesus for us all please;)
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Our hearts hurt with the loss of Marta and Gordon. These two people are truly role models for the rest of us with their kind and caring hearts. The Lord gave two of his very best wings here early this year and left a void in this old world.
We were very blessed to have known them both and to be able to call them friends. We will miss you both and know will never be forgotten.
With grateful and sorrow filled hearts, the Johnson Family prays for your family left behind and hopes that can find comfort knowing the impact both your parents have had on so many of us.
Sincerely,
Don, Hoss, Crissy, Dahlton and Dylan Johnson.

Gordon was one of the most caring, nicest people. henever we connected through our many community projects, it was a though two long lost friends had found each other. Without his encouragement, I imagine my community work would have been on a lesser scale.
I will miss him, but will treasure the memories of our work together.

We all will miss him.
