Graham Johnson Obituary

June 28, 1993 - February 23, 2008 Graham Johnson, beloved son of Bobby and Andrea Johnson, and adored brother of Devon McCauley Johnson, was tragically killed in hit and run accident on February 23, 2008. Graham was born in Charlotte, NC and also lived in Louisville, KY before moving to Colorado Springs. Graham was a freshman, at Cheyenne Mountain High School, where he enjoyed Physics, Photography, and PE. Graham spent much of his free time with his friends, many of whom he had known since kindergarten, and several of them were with him when he died. Graham was a much loved young man, one who would do anything for his friends. His sweet natured disposition and sunny smile endeared him to all who knew him. Graham enjoyed Lacrosse, tennis, jumping on the trampoline, gaming and bodysurfing. Graham spent many happy days at the beaches in North and South Carolina, and he had recently taken some great trips to Disney World, Mexico and Spain with his family. His Dad will miss his best friend and companion; his Mom will miss her beautiful brown-eyed baby boy's hugs. Graham is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Ann Johnson of Advance, NC, his maternal grandparents, Jack and Gail Stemper of Clemmons, NC, his uncles: Adam Johnson, John Stemper and Jim Stemper; his aunts: Audrey Saloka, Alicia Stemper, Lydia Lavelle, Azra Stemper and Amy Stemper; and many, many younger cousins who thought the world of Graham. Graham adored all of his pets, the dogs Rowdy, Danny and Pip, and the Cat, Rags. Graham's visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave., with a funeral mass planned for 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 9 El Pomar Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pikes Peak Humane Society.

Dear Bobby, I was so very glad to talk to you the other day. Our family is small but I still remember just like yesterday the times we all had as children. Now we are adults with children. But the love we all had for one another is not gone or forgotten. My heart is with you always and I am so very sorry that you had to loose your son needlessly. Bobby, If I can do anything at all, to help your family with this ordeal. Feel free to call me, you have my number and I am just a call away, for you and for Andrea. I love you always and will think of you daily for a long time to come.

Bobby:
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. You were such a special "little boy" in my life and I treasure the memories and photographs I have of you and Vickie with my boys and the other kids on Parkfield Lane. I only wish I could be there to give you hugs and ease the hurt your entire family is experiencing. Our prayer is that God will continue to sustain you as you go through the coming days. We love you. Andrea,
I prayed that the young boy killed the other day was not your son. I held my breath when I read the obituary yesterday that the Johnson family on Orion Drive was not you. I cannot imagine what it must be like to lose a child. My heart goes out to you and your family Andrea.

My son Joshua knew Graham from Jr. High school. We moved to CT this past summer. He heard about Graham's death through a mutual friend. He is unable to grasp that it could be true. He talks about what a nice kid Graham was. We are so very sorry for your loss. We are thankful that Graham was loved by you so deeply and that he was able to share his love and sunny disposition with so many.

I did not know Graham as a close friend, but we went to school together, and I was in several of his classes. I would like you to know that he was someone that everyone wanted to be friends with because of his kindness and politeness.
I, personally, may not have known Graham, but my prayers are with you.

Bobby, Andrea, & Devon words can not express the pain we are all feeling for you guys. We have many good memories of all of you from your time in Louisville. Graham was a special child and we are very happy that he and Colin were friends. We still have a picture of Graham, Logan, & Colin in Colin's room. We shared many good stories last night about all the fun we had together. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks for sharing time with us back in Louisville.
