His father started the nickname, but Greg kept it going. He always had a nickname for everyone - perhaps that's how he told us he loved us. He called me "goldilocks" because I was always the blondest in a sea of Garcia's. He always made me feel like family. I dored you, Greg. Your humor and smile were always a treat - and despite the jokes, you were a perfect gentleman and a sweet, loving man at heart. I will forever remember your sweet nature, and although not a man of many words, I always felt happy in your company. I especially respected your love of sports and how you shared that with so many by coaching, and your love of family and youngsters! What an honor it must have been to be coached by you. I will forever miss your presence but I hope that you are eternally at peace. There is no longer any pain or sorrow for you - only for us, those who will miss you terribly. Peace be forever with you my dear friend. Good night sweet man! All my love, Shelly Bennington

Greg (Gerg),
I cannot begin to express how much I am going to miss you. I don't know how I am going to be able to continue to live without my brother. Many of the most wonderful memories of my life involve you. I remember our numerous trips to Independent Records and Media Play because we both had such a similar taste in music. I also remember you spoiling me. You always woke up earlier in the morning so you could drive me to school to prevent me from taking the city bus. Then we would drive to school at 6:30 in the morning blasting the Beastie Boys "Brass Monkey" and when you dropped me off you would dance and yell out the window to try your best to embarrass me. You also taught me how to be "one of the boys" and to play football like a champ. I got many of jammed fingers but knew you were proud to teach me. You were there to support me for the good times and the trials of my life. When I was confirmed, you stood behind me as my sponsor. Leading me in my faithful journey through life. You were a wonderful brother, friend and teacher. Every time I see a ball field or the Steeler's play, I will think of you. I will teach Noah and David about their uncle who I know would teach them to play sports. They love you and I love you. I know you are at peace with Nina and she is rejoicing to see her baby. I wish we had longer, brother and I know we will be together once again. But until then...dream little Angels.

In the pain of loss

Dearest Greg,
The eldest of my beloved sister Anita and her loving husband Jim's three sons. I have many memories of Greg. One was when he was just a little guy showing his aunt Barbie, grandma Lapointe, uncle Frank and myself how he learned to put his coat on unside down. He was only two..it was the cutest thing. As he got older you would often find him playing outdoor sports or watching them on TV with his dad as they were always together.. Oh! I cant forget how he loved teasing my two girls Brandi Jo and Valerie who grew up with the three boys." He was-a-character ". But most of all, Greg was a wonderful, gentel, loving soul who honored his mother and father deeply. My heart and prayers go out to our family and all those who may be suffering from the loss of our beloved Gregory..Ecclesiastes 9:5 and 6. Psalms 146:4. Sleep in peace " Butter Cup " a name his mother Anita many times called him. With all my love,...

Although devastating, we understand our mortality! I can't begin to think of all the fun times we had! Kicking butt with Tex Mex! Laughing until our sides were hurting! Playing the '8 A.M. games! If the world had more people like you, it would be a much more peaceful planet!
Greg, my Brother, rest in peace! We will share the outfield again!
