To Judy and all of Greg's family,
Today I learned of Greg's passing… and that has triggered fond memories of our college days all together. It has also triggered more than a few tears. I am sorry for your loss!
It seems like there is no good time or way to lose a spouse, a father, son, brother, nephew or friend. Whether the death is expected or unexpected, you'll always miss him. My hope is that, in time, the feelings of loss will be far outweighed by the memories of all that Greg gave to each of you.
While it has been decades since I have seen Greg, his infectious smile is still so vivid in my memory. He was a swell guy!
Judy, despite the fact that I am so poor at staying in touch, please know that I do care!

I BRIEFLY KNEW MR. TIMM FROM HIS ATTENDANCE AT THE COLORADO SPRINGS AIRPORT ADVISORY MEETINGS. HE WAS A VERY PERSONABLE MAN AND ALWAYS PRESENTED HIMSELF AS A GENTLEMAN GENUINELY INTERESTED IN OTHERS. MR. TIMM ALWAYS BROUGHT A SMILE WITH HIM WHICH WAS INFECTIOUS. THANKS, MR. TIMM! YOU WILL BE MISSED.

Judy, Derrick and Kendra. We continue to hold you all in prayer as the reality of Greg's passing sinks in and his "spirit" soars with the Great/Holy Spirit. The speed and the heights in God Greg now knows has set him free. I can see that infectious smile on his pain-free face. Love, Briana/Lalonde

Judy, Derrick, Kendra and the Timm family,
From Colorado Springs Amateur Hockey Association (CSAHA), here is what was sent to all players, parents and friends of CSAHA:
Gregory Dale Greg") Timm, long-time hockey coach, leader, and CSAHA Past President passed away on July 7, 2011 after a multi-year struggle with ALS (Lou Gerig's Disease), which is an incurable fatal neuromuscular disease.
Greg enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and ice hockey. He started coaching in the Colorado Springs Little Caesars Youth Ice Hockey Program when both of his children, son, Derrick and daughter, Kendra began playing at the age of 4 yrs as Mini-Mites in 1990 and 1992, respectively. He continued to pursue youth ice hockey excellence in Colorado Springs being elected to the Board and later as President of the predecessor to Colorado Springs Amateur Hockey Association (CSAHA), which continues today as the largest youth hockey association in metro-Colorado Springs. During his tenure on the Board, Greg was instrumental in keeping Sertich Ice Arena at Memorial Park from being sold at fire sale when a local anti-tax proponent led an attempt on the 1997 ballot to sell many city assets including Sertich. Greg and the hockey and skating community rallied to overturn the ballot question by a 3:1 ratio.
Greg was born November 18, 1954 in Fort Hood, Texas, and graduated from Gonzaga Law School With a Juris Doctorate and was licensed to practice law soonafter. He was active in the home building and business community in Colorado Springs from 1983 to 2011, when he passed away. While being involved in the local hockey community, he also served in the early 1990s as President of the Colorado State Home Builders Association and more recently in many leadership roles with the National Association of Home Builders.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Judy Rae Timm, his two children, Derrick and Kendra, his mother, Barbara Danielson, father Dale Timm, and two sisters, Bette Timm and Sheryl Calcavecchia.
There will be a funeral service at St. Francis of Assisi, 2650 Parish View, Colorado Springs, 80919 on Wednesday July 13th at 3:00 p.m. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Arizona Foundation, 19820 N. 7th Ave., Suite 130, Phoenix, AZ 8502.
After the service, a reception for family and friends from 5-8pm will be held at Greg's former Downtown Colorado Springs office in the second floor of the Gray Rose building, now known as Blondie's at 24 North Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Greg was a hockey coach of mine whose personality and teaching skills hold a strong place in my childhood memories. I will never forget team parties at Derrick and Coach Timm's home and the rambunctious times that a group of 8-10 yr old hockey boys are bound to have. I extend my condolences to the whole Timm family and hope they know that they will be in my thoughts.

I was 7 years old when you were born and was so proud to be an aunt for the 1st time. My friends at school couldn't believe I was an aunt at such a young age.
Grampa Ryan thanked the Lord above to finally get a boy in his family..his grandson. You were loved and cherished by all of us.
Rest and celebrate with the Lord and your loved ones who have gone before you. We all will meet again soon, but for now you will be so missed.
To you, my sweet nephew, all your aunties will watch over your loving mother who adored you. She knows how lucky she was to have you, but you know what a great mother you had. No one could have loved you more. There is no love like a mother's love.
God bless and strengthen your dear Judy, Kendra and Derrick.
Love, Auntie Linda Lou

We will miss you Greg Timm;
God, What is my fascination with this game?
Is it the outdoors — the green fairways, the blue skies, the lakes and trees,
the feel of the breeze across my face?
Is it the friends with whom I play — their companionship, their encouragement, the conversation between holes, the silence as we wait our turn?
Is it the game — the balance between grace and skill and power,
the striving for perfection, the loft of the ball, the precision of the putt?
Or is it all of these, and in these, meditations about all of life — harmony, friendship, balance, and, every once in awhile, the perfect shot and a glorious Amen.
Amen, rest in peace my friend.........as some day we will play again on greener pastures........
