Guadalupe Aguilera Obituary

Aguilera
Guadalupe "Lupe" Albert Aguilera
March 13, 1938 - December 27, 2017
Guadalupe (Lupe) Albert Aguilera was born March 13th, 1938 in Colorado Springs to Juana (Valenzuela) and Anacleto Aguilera as the youngest of six children. Lupe departed this earth on December 27, 2017 to join his heavenly family; he was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Inez Aguilera; and several brothers, Raymond, Manuel, Pedro, Paul Aguilera. He is survived by his children Kathy (Tom) Rodgers, Anthony (Danetta), and Michael (Julie). He is survived by grandchildren, Amanda (Lee) Crego, Forrestte Brinkerhoff, Kristine Aguilera, Michael Aguilera, Adam Aguilera, and Taylor Aguilera. Great-grandchildern, Max and Olivia Baughman; several nieces and nephews. Also survived by one sister Jacquina Aguilera.
Lupe loved fishing, old cars, and music. His favorite was night fishing at Eleven Mile Reservoir and catching big fish, you could see his face shine bright with joy even with the dim lantern when he was bringing "the big one" to shore. Thanks to Lupe sharing Taylor park with his family it has become an annual gathering spot for his family, with his love of fishing passed on to his sons. Lupe's love for classic vehicles was a passion he shared with his son Michael and grandson Adam and son-in-law Tom. They worked adamantly fixing up a 56 Ford, so that Lupe could have some fun in it his last few years, and he did. Lupe's love of music was also enjoyed by his sons, some of Lupe's favorites were Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Chuck Willis, and the list goes on and on. "Yeah the fifties baby...the time of your life."
Lupe will be missed greatly by his family and friends that he is leaving behind. His family asks that you join them for his celebration of life at 4:00 P.M. January 3rd, 2018 at Cappadona Funeral Home (1020 E. Fillmore) with a reception to follow at Johnny's Navajo Hogan (2817 N. Nevada) at 5:30 P.M.

My Dad he was a hell-raiser, and a rebel, he lived his life like he wanted. My brothers and I joke he is in heaven now cursing a Chrysler 300 smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer, my Mom is in the passenger side saying "slow down Lupe." He will get to spend time with all those that have gone before him. I never thought I would miss you as much as I do, bye Tata, love you through all of our differences.

Lupe has been a great friend to me and my family for years. I met him through my brother Larry , and my mom Frances who worked with him at Hewlett-Packard. He was always a frequent visitor to our home. When my brother passed in February 2015, Luoe was so kind and called me every other week to check on us. When he lost his wife we lost touch as he really never returned my messages . I will always have fond memories of him and my brother always joking and hanging out together. RIP Lupe my friend.

We loved Lupe's kind spirit and fun personality. Night fishing at 11-mile were some of our favorite memories! He will be missed. Hope you and Larry are catching big ones up there, Lupe!
