H. Anderson Obituary

H. Carl Anderson of Colorado Springs died on Friday, October 11, 2013 after a brief stay at Advanced Health Care. He was 86.

He was born on December 17, 1926 in Denver. He graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1945. Carl received a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1953 and Master of Arts in Education in 1957 both from the University of Denver. He married Frances Lee Isenhart on June 16, 1950, and together they had three children. Carl taught in the Denver Public School System and then became a real estate broker, founded Columbine Lake Realty and helped develop Columbine Lake Country Club in Grand Lake, CO.

After retirement, Carl and his wife moved to the southwest suburban Denver area where they lived until they moved to Colorado Springs in 2011 to be near their daughter. Carl served as a long-time member of the Grand County Board of Realtors, the Columbine Lake Country Club, the Columbine Lake Water District Board and the Grand Lake Metropolitan Recreation District Board. While on the Recreation District Board he was instrumental in developing the second nine holes of the Grand Lake Golf Course. He was an avid golfer, stamp collector and watercolor painter and loved to dance.

Carl was predeceased by his parents, Harold C. and Mildred J. (Ferguson) Anderson and his wife, Frances.

He is survived by his brother, Donald (Carol) Anderson of Las Cruces, NM, his three children Janna (Richard) Sampson of Lisle, IL, Richard (Melanie) Anderson of Larkspur, CO, and Patricia (Henry) Reitwiesner of Colorado Springs, and his four grandchildren, Lauren (Sampson) Kelley (Derek), Matthew Sampson, and Theodore and Thomas Reitwiesner.

A memorial service will be held at Columbine Unitarian Universalist Church, 6724 South Webster Street,

Littleton, CO, on November 2, 2013 at 2pm with a reception to follow.

Memorial donations may be made in Carl's name to the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library.
