Harold Browning Obituary

Harold Wayne 'Pop' Browning, age 71, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on February 27, 2006 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mr. Browning was born on May 7, 1934 in Oldham County, Kentucky, a son of the late Harry and Hazel Tiller Browning. He married Dorothy Cole on November 23, 1954, she preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by five children: Harold Frank (Sue) Browning, John Evan (Kathy Zupancic) Browning, Susan Elaine Browning, James Wayne Browning and David Lee Browning, all of Colorado Springs; two brothers: J. T. Browning of Indianapolis, Indiana, C.M. Browning of Jericho, Kentucky; one sister, Beatrice Robison of Frankfort, Kentucky; and six grandchildren: Michael James, Blake Kathryn, Patrick Allen, Nicholas John, Emma Jean, Caleb Cole, Brandon Frank and Ryan Nicholas. Mr. Browning retired from the U.S. Army in 1981 as a CW4. From 1981 to 1998 Mr. Browning was an independent truck driver. Mr. Browning attended Springs Ranch Baptist Church and was a loyal fan of the Louisville (Kentucky) Cardinals. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2006 at Evergreen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Interment with full military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock, Colorado Springs, Colorado. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans through the funeral home office.
