Harold Dobyns Obituary

Harold Lee Dobyns passed away August 12, 2016 at his home. He was a longtime resident of Colorado Springs where he worked at his own business installing fencing.

Harold was born July 16, 1932 to James and Ruby (Nash) Dobyns in Orange, Virginia. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1953 and discharged a year later. In 1955 he enlisted in the Untied States Army and served proudly for over twenty years. He was able to marry, Darlene (Smith) Williamson on October 28, 1975 at Colorado Springs, CO. When he married her he was blessed with four children, whom he cared for as his own.

Harold was a hard working man; he built fences and hauled scrap metal for 35 years before finally retiring in 2015. He did enjoy taking time to fish, and read the daily news.

He is survived by four stepchildren: Linda Walton, of Colorado Springs, Ricky Williams, of Colorado Springs, Robin Real, of Chino, California, Ronda Ford, of Colorado Springs brother: Tilly Dobyns sister: Doris Golden of Virginia. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Harold is preceded in death by his wife Darlene of 33 years, brothers William Dobyns and Jesse Dobyns, and a brother-in-law Robert Golden.

Visitation will be held Thursday August 18, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 E. Fountain Blvd Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Graveside service will be Friday August 19, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery 1005 Hancock Expy, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
