Harold D Palmer
August 14, 1930 - April 24, 2018
Harold D. Palmer 87 of Colorado Springs entered eternal life on April 24th.
Harold was born on August 14, 1930 to the late David and Fern Palmer in Kendall, Kansas.
He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1951-1955. After which he opened his own barbershop in Colorado Springs which he owned and operated for over 40 years. He also enjoyed calling and teaching square dancing throughout Colorado until 2004.
Harold will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and making people smile with his endless supply of jokes and tall tales.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ila Palmer, son, Jeff (Debbie) Palmer and Daughter Shannon (BC) Stevenson, 4 grandchildren, Sherri, Sean, Schellee and J.D. and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, with a reception to follow.
Donations may be made in Harold's name to Interim Hospice.

Harold was the kindest and funniest person we have had the privilege to know! Ila and Harold were friends with my family for thirty years throughout Harold's Barbering and square danceing clubs.

Ila,
I remember as a little girl going to the barber shop with my dad and coming to visit you and Harold at your home. We enjoy watching the 8mm movies of his square dancing groups that dad took. Very fond memories I have of you and your family.

I was saddened to learn of Harold's passing. It has been a long road for him and my dear Aunt Ila. He will be missed by so many but Heaven has gained a true gentleman. I send my love and deepest sympathy.

We remember square dancing to your dad in the late 70's and early 80's, always a great time for all, what a gift to bring a smile to the faces of so many people. Jeff, my condolences to you and your family on the death of your father. I remember meeting your dad a few times and his sense of humor was certainly passed along to you. While you grieve during this time of sorrow, please take time to reflect on the great life your dad enjoyed. The stories you told me about how he enjoyed talking to people in the barber shop as he cut their hair and how he enjoyed the conversations more than actually doing the haircut.
