HARRIET JENSEN Obituary

Harriett M. (Sand) Jensen passed away September 30, 2008 in her home in Apache Junction, Arizona. She was born May 3, 1924 in Rugby, North Dakota. She graduated from Rugby High School and received her teacher's certificate from Minot State College in 1934. She taught 3rd grade and high school physical education in Kenmare, North Dakota. She married Douglas Jensen on July 30, 1944. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1953 where they owned a gift shop in Manitou Springs and in 1959 opened a dinner theater, The Iron Springs Chateau, which they operated for 19 years. Since 1986 they have spent their winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. They enjoyed entertaining, dancing, playing bridge, and camping with friends in their RV. They were blessed with three children, Nancy "Niky" (Sprague), Kirk (Donna) and Jay (Vicki). She was preceded in death by Doug in 2004 and Niky in 2005. The memorial service will be held at the Pikes Peak United Methodist Church at 2927 West Pikes Peak Avenue in Colorado Springs on October 18, 2008 at 11:00.
