Dear Uncle Mort, Saul and Joey, I am saddened by Auntie Harriet's death. I did not expect that, and my heart goes out to you all. My childhood remembrances of Auntie Harriet are these: warm, smart, a good listener, artistic, a connnoseur of the good and special things in life. Even though we were not close, I always smiled when I saw her across the shul at Yontov, always regal, beautiful, and so accomplished. She will be missed. Please accept my family's condolences, Maureen, Sheva, Alia and Jared.

Dear Morty, Saul, and Joey,
It is with deep sorrow that I send this note. Harriet has and always will stay in a sweet spot in my heart. I will continue to cherish many of the times we spent together, especially our long walks at Mt. Royal and around Lac des Sables. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

We are so sorry to hear of Harriet's passing. She was a real "bubble", full of life and fun, every time we had the chance to meet up with her and Morty. Although we have not had the chance to see her in the last few years, we always remember her fondly. Our condolences to the entire family.

To The Kolomier Family: Please accept my very deepest sympathy on the loss of your dear wife, mother and grandmother. Although you do not know me I want you to know I feel your loss and my heart goes out to you. Harriet and I were classmates from grades 1 - 11. We were always friends and were always delighted to meet, stop and chat. Our last meeting was just over 7 years ago when we happened to see each other in Snowdon. My late husband was very ill at the time and dear Harriet spent a very long time chating and helped me tremendously wih her kind words. When the time came she visited us at the Shiva. She was a genuinely caring person and her visit was truly consoling. I will always remember her with her beautiful smiling dimpled face as a true, sincere friend. May you all be Blessed with courage at this difficult time - Good Health and Long Life. Sincerely, Elaine Budning

Dear Mr. Kolomeir, Joseph, Monica and family. I was sad to read of Harriet's passing. It has been four years since we sold La Transition but the memories are still alive. Harriet was truly devoted to her family and she really enjoyed giving special thoughtful gifts all during the year. Whether it was a special dinner reservation at table "30" with the requisite 'mud fight' for dessert or just a whole bunch of whole wheat pasta to cook at home. I am sure you have many many more of your own and I wish for you to be able to focus on these to help you move forward in your grief.
All the best,
Beverlee Ashmele

Harriet was our first cousin. We would visit by phone and sometimes in person in Montreal or Orlando. Whenever we visited in Montreal Harriet and Morty would treat us like royalty. Harriet once came to the airport to see us when we were just changing planes in Montreal. She was intelligant, full of life, and cared deeply about family. In personality and ability she was very much like her grandmother Tybol Cohen who came from Kiev, Russia to Montreal in 1899 and after the death of her husband, as an immigrant raised a large family and sent her children to college. We loved and will miss Harriett dearly.
