Harry Barr Obituary

Harry R. Barr, 89, of Colorado Springs passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010. Harry was born November 13, 1920 to Genevieve Ray and William Albert "Pat" Barr. During World War II he was an officer in the United States Army Airborne Division. Later, he held management positions in the industrial laundry field and was best known for his ability to transform failing operations into successful ones. He was a loving husband and father and greatly enjoyed spending time with his extended family when he could. People remember Harry's kind spirit, keen sense of humor, penchant for practical jokes and zest for life. In his younger years he enjoyed boating, waterskiing and handball. He was a life-long bridge player. He is survived by his daughter Kae Rader and his son-in-law Phil Rader of Colorado Springs, and his sister Rita Cole of Palatine, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Esther, his son Kenneth, and his sisters Iola Tiedge and Leila Clements. A celebration of Harry's life will be held on Friday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m., in the Skyline Room, at Brookdale Village of Skyline, 2365 Patriot Heights, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
