Helen Bishaw Obituary
Penny is survived by her husband, Joseph; children: Joseph III, Michael, Sharon, Daniel, Kelly, and Gregory; in laws: Doug, Brenda, Chrissi, and Barbel; grandchildren: Sheppard, Keliana, Megan, Lucas, Brent, Nicole, Danielle, Emile, Rylee, Bobbi Jo, Witney, Lee, and Larissa; and great grandchildren: Isabel, Isaac, Ivan, and Michael, with two great grandchildren on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Freeman; her sisters, Bette and Barbara; and her son, Michael.
She served honorably in the Unites States Air Force from June 1951 to June 1955. She enjoyed working in the Peterson Chapel Doll Workshop and was an auxiliary member of TREA. She was an avid reader and mostly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Penny was a lady full of life and took up golf in her later years. She spent most of her vacations in Illinois and the Hawaiian Islands. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Century Hospice, 1524 N. Hancock Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903, or to your favorite charity.

We were blessed with her presence. She was an awesome woman and we remember all the good time we has growing up with our Ohana. She was beautiful in every way and will be truly missed. Aunty Penny we are so sorry to hear that you passed away and wished we could have been there to spend time with you and the family before those final days. You will always be remembered as a generous, loving and gracious person that everyone loved. Our hearts go out to Joe and the family in his time of need and the loss which he and the family are experiencing. We send our prayers and ask the Lord to Bless and watch over the family and help them through these difficult times. We also send our deepest condolences and love to the family for Aunty Penny's next journey into the after life to meet with Uncle Joe, My mom, Aunty Cissy, Kuulei, Kanela, Summer and many of our relatives. Aunty Penny we miss you but you never will be forgotten and will be remembered by all you touched. God Bless you and Rest in Peace.
