Helen Gould Obituary

Helen M Gould died Sunday afternoon, April 27th, at her home in Woodland Park, Colorado. She was born in Conrad, Montana on December 18, 1931 to Carl and Gertrude Orr of Valier, Montana, now deceased.

Helen graduated as valedictorian from Valier High School in 1949 and attended college at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. This is where she met Richard V Gould (RV). They were married on November 10, 1951, and spent 50 years together. Richard passed in December, 2001.

Helen was an Air Force wife and lived in many interesting locations during their Air Force years. She bore and raised three children while managing to keep a home during the many moves that mark a military family. She and RV retired from the Air Force in 1978 and later settled in Woodland Park, Colorado, where they thoroughly enjoyed retirement.

Helen and RV loved to travel. They bought a recreational vehicle upon retirement and visited many beautiful and inspiring places, including Alaska, the Arctic circle, and Nova Scotia. Later she traveled with her children and her last trip was to the home of her ancestors, Scotland.

Outside of family and travel, Helen's primary love was her Lord Jesus Christ. Helen was deeply involved with the Episcopalian Church, the Anglican Church, and later the Lutheran Church. She became a lay minister in her 50's. Her faith called her to serve others which she did as a member and director of the Community Cupboard in Woodland Park. She also served as a counselor and prayer warrior which brought her great joy in addition to supporting many worldwide ministries.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Alicia L Gould of Arlington, Texas, and her spouse Teresa B. Foster, a daughter, Janet L Gould, of Woodland Park, Colorado, a son Richard V. Gould, Jr., of Lakewood, Colorado, a sister Beverly Hughes of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and her spouse Glenn, a sister-in-law, Claire Orr of Austin, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be on Thursday, May 1st at Faith Lutheran Church in Woodland Park, Colorado. Internment will be at the Woodland Park Cemetery followed by a reception at the Swiss Chalet Restaurant in Woodland Park.
