Helen Kersey Obituary

Helen Elizabeth Kersey, 87, passed away August 30, 2011, from complications of a heart attack. The family plans to hold a private interment in Colorado Springs. Helen was born is Bemidji, MN on January 28, 1924, to parents, William and Rose McClellan. She grew up in Sparta, WI where she worked in her family's restaurant until she married. She raised four children while living in New Jersey, Ohio, Georgia, Maryland, Austria, Cuba, and California. After the death of her first husband, Helen moved to Colorado Springs, CO. There she married her true love, Bob Kersey, and they happily spend 40 years together. Helen resided in Missouri for her final years. Helen was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for 44 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, baking and watching her favorite show, "Wheel of Fortune." Helen is survived by sons Fred Weis, Steve (Mary) Kersey, David Weis; daughters Karan (Gene) Denmark, Jerry Weatherwax, Patty (Tim) Stewart; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister Margaret Ries. Helen will be missed.
