Helen Lester Obituary

Helen Augusta Lester, formerly of Colorado Springs, died December 2, 2007 at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, Colorado. She was 83 years old. Mrs. Lester was born March 11, 1924, in Somerville, Massachusetts to Arthur and Mary (Conner) Jones. She was married on February 10, 1946 at St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Manitou Springs, Colorado to Jack V. Lester. They moved to Longmont in 2005. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, and two sons: Harvey Russell Lester (Marilyn) of Lake Kiowa Texas and Jeffrey Kim Lester (Nadeen) of Longmont. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Eric Monroe Lester (Valerie) of Melissa Texas, Elaine Lester Reid (Jason) of Virginia Beach Virginia, Courtney Lester Kueck (Scott) of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, Joanna Augusta Lester of Longmont, and step-grandson Bryan Keith Siler (Jennifer) of Sugar Land Texas. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Aaron Lester and Isabelle and Elijah Siler, and a special niece, Ann Marie McLaughlin (Edward) of Natick Massachusetts. Her parents, two sisters, Mary Johnson and Rita Kelly, and two brothers, Arthur Jones and Frank Jones preceded her in death. Mrs. Lester was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and needlework, and spent much of her time in Bible study. She thanked God for her time here and for her loving Savior Jesus Christ, whom she has gone to be near. Her wise and loving presence will be deeply missed by her family. Private services have been held. Inurnment at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
