Helena Parsons Obituary

Memorial Services for Mrs. Helena D. Parsons of Colorado Springs will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, with Major Don Gilger of the Salvation Army officiating. Inurnment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Columbarium of Remembrance. Mrs. Parsons died on July 7, 2007 at 12:58 p.m.. She was 93 years old. A Colorado Springs resident since 1968, Mrs. Parsons moved here from Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii with her husband John L. Parsons, and son Charles. They were an Air Force family. Mrs. Parsons was a member of the Salvation Army Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, National Woman's Relief Corps and was a 25 year volunteer at Penrose Community Hospital. Mrs. Parsons was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Parsons, in May of 1972, four sisters and one brother. Survivors include her son Charles (wife Bev) Parsons; five grandchildren: Laurie, Dave, Eric, Alex and Matt; four great grandchildren: James, Demi, Daniel and Logan; two sisters: Elsie and Charlotte and her best friend Betty Finley-Gamblin.
