Henry Thompson Obituary

Henry Edward Thompson, 91, went home to be with his Savior on January 21, 2014. He left this earth peacefully, surrounded by family, as they sang hymns, read scripture, and prayed.



Henry was born in Detroit, MI, and as a young boy, moved to Trumansburg, NY. He served in the Army during World War II, stationed in France and Germany, where he was taken as a POW. He was discharged in 1946, got married, and attended Clarkson University, where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as an engineer from 1951 to 1994.



Henry was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Harry, and Kenneth, and his first wife of 51 years, Louise.



Henry is survived by his wife, Ruth, his children, Deborah (James) Witmer, Colorado Springs, John (Libby), Baldwinsville, NY, Alan, Colorado Springs, William, Muskogee, OK, Pamela Herlacher, Sparks, OK, Theodore (Deborah), Canandaigua, NY, Suzanne and Tina, Syracuse, NY. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.



A memorial service will be held at Parkmoor Village Heathcare Center, 3625 Parkmoor Village Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80917 on February 8th at 3pm.
