HERBERT GOLDSTEIN Obituary

GOLDSTEIN
HERBERT LEWIS GOLDSTEIN
January 4, 1932 January 25, 2021
Herb was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Main High School and attended Colorado A&M. He met his wife Sally Meyer when she was a camp counselor at Quarter Circle H Ranch in Woodland Park after his return from service in the Air Force during the Korean War. They married on March 24,1955 in Houston, TX. They were married for 65 wonderful years. He was a proud American patriot, entrepreneur, business man, and real estate investor. He was Chief of the Broadmoor fire department in the early 70s and served on their board until his death. He was a member of Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo ramrod committee from 1958 until the mid 90s. He was also an active member of the Shriners. His personality and humor could light up any room. Herb was happiest when he was playing polo, grilling his world famous ribs, spoiling his dogs, driving his '34 ford, riding historic trains, visiting museums, being with his family, and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; son, Brad; and granddaughter Lauren.
A private memorial celebration for close family & friends will be held at the Broadmoor Fire Department.

I miss Herb a lot When we went to our Korean War Reunions he and Sally were some of first I looked for. He sent me an email just prior to the final reunion asking me to do something very important for him since they were not coming. Herb, I did take care of it. I will see you later. I am now 93.

I first met Herb in 1984 when I worked in one of his buildings at 217 So. Wahsatch. Herb was such a character - such a fun guy to talk with!
To me, he seemed to have his hands into all kinds of business dealings (buildings, cars, real estate, etc.).
Colorado Springs will certainly miss a good one in Herb. My sorrows go out to his family and friends.

Herb was one my Korean War buddies. I always looked forward to our reunions since he and Sally were usually there. When we had our final reunion in 2019 he wasn't able to come, but he did send me an email while I was at the reunion. Rest in Peace my friend.
