Hard to believe it's been almost 7 years. And I still think of him everyday. Rest in peace my friend.

Herb was a very special guy who kept me safe while flying airplanes and balloons in challenging weather situations. He spent hours of his own time at the weather office communicating with me while in flight providing weather information that would carry us to a win when we we flying in competition for a national ranking.

Sad news indeed. Our hearts surround Delores and Karen with extra love at this time. My grandparents Jac and June were great friends with Herb and Delores. I remember lots of jokes and laughter at their dinner parties. ~Samantha (Sally's daughter)

I am so SORRY to hear this news. Thanks to Karen for calling me - I missed it in the paper. He was a great husband to Delores. I made him an "honorary therapist" because he had the drive and motivation to push himself and his wife to their maximum abilities and potential. He will be missed! He lived life to it's fullest. Please take comfort on what a good person he was and the wonderful 61 years together and all the many wonderful memories! My sympathies to Delores, Karen, and Debbie. I've known Herb ever since I first arrived in Colorado Springs in 1976 and was assigned to the COS weather station as a weather observer. As the leader of the COS National Weather Service office, Herb was like a father to this young 21 year old at the time. I enjoyed many wonderful professional and social moments with this special man. My wife, Be' and I wish to express our deepest sympathies to Delores and the entire Moore family. I'm a better man because of Herb and I pray you take solace in the warmth that he brought to your lives.

As an old college friend of Debbie's I have fond memories of "Mr. Moore" and how he led the Moore family with the harem of women in his special way & especially treated Mrs. Moore's mother tenderly. He will have a special place in heaven. My thoughts are with you Delores, Debbie & Karen.

My condolences to Herb's family and offer my prayers for you all in your grief. Herb was my mentor in the National Weather Service and I have carried many of his lessons with me in my personal and professional life as a meteorologist. I often repeat one of his humorous "Herbisms" that he would tell me when I was learning and studying to be certified as a weather observer: "It's just like eatin' lettuce, there ain't nothin' to it!" Rest in God's peace, Herb!

Herb was a "Winter Texan" friend that we stayed in touch with and we became year around friends. We enjoyed so much our time with he and Delores in Texas and had the pleasure to visit them in Colorado. We send love and prayers to Delores and Karen and family.
