Holly M. Tracy, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on March 26, 2024. She was born September 20, 1930 in St. Louis, MO, to Eudean (Jensen) and Howard Mundt.
Holly graduated from Northfield High School in Northfield, Minnesota. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa where she met her future husband, George, at the Wesley Foundation Student Center. She was asked to sing at a Sunday evening service, but not knowing a pianist, was told George Tracy played. He accompanied her then and through their 70 years of marriage.
Holly became a teacher and taught for many years in Illinois and Colorado Springs. After retiring, she tutored adults to read and write English through the LitSource program at the Pikes Peak Library. She was honored in 2015 for 25 years of tutoring and for volunteering more years than anyone in the Library system.
Holly sang in many choral groups throughout her life, most recently with the Chancel Choir at First United Methodist Church. Besides music she enjoyed tennis, ready and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, George E. Tracy; three children, Sue Iverson (Ken) of Casa Grande, AZ, Todd Tracy (Mary Lou Tillotson) of Falls Church, VA, and William Tracy (Brenda) of Colorado Springs; one sister, Barbara Najib (Omar) of Palos Park, IL, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great- grandchildren. One grandson, Wesley Tracy, preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be celebrated on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 420 North Nevada Avenue, in Colorado Springs. Private inurnment will take place at the First United Methodist Church Columbarium prior to the service. If desired, memorials may be made to the Chancel Choir, First United Methodist Church, 420 N.
