He leaves to cherish his memory, Parents Joann Butler and Barry Anderson; step father, David Butler; step brothers; Chuck Goodwin, Michael and Steven Butler; his "brother" Thomas Kauker; Nana Betty; grandpa, Jerry and Cheryl Butler; Grammom Anderson; uncle, Butch and family; aunt Tese; aunt Missy and uncle Jimmy and family; aunts Faye, Terri, and Holly, uncles Phil and Daryl and Families, and numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles, Friends and his boxer, Hanna. Although I have only met Ian a few times, I have been very close to his father Barry, stepbrother Chuck and stepsister Jen for many years. To Barry: you know the deal man, I'm here. To Mom Joanne: Find comfort knowing that even though Ian's life was short, he spent all of his time here making the world a better place. I think Heaven is a better place now too.

i have pretty much known ian his whole life since he was 2. he has always been the greatest kid i know. He had all the manners in the world and would do anything for anybody he was close to maybe just anybody. Ian has helped me through out the years with everything i needed. Ian is the man i love him dearly and will miss him. ian is my inspiration to go on and rock hard with my music because life is way to short. I will jam with him again someday. Joann, Though I didn't know Ian, he sounds like a remarkable young man. I am sorry for your loss.

To Joann Butler and extended family,

I was profoundly shocked to learn of Ian's passing in the newspaper a few minutes ago and wanted to convey our sympathy to you. Over the years, I would often need to run to the business or school office prior to school starting at Woodland Park HS and would see Ian with a group of 10 to 15 friends visiting as I passed in the hallway. He would always recognize me and say "Hi' and I would always tease him about his current selection of hair color, just as I teased others. He was the tallest person in the group and others would surround him but he always stopped conversation to speak to me. He had visited our home in the Springs a couple of times and was always polite. I smile when I remember his long, black coat and his presence wearing it. Individuality is honored in our family and Ian was a young man with that trait. We will remember him. On behalf of my son, Nate Anderson, and classmate, Kyle Robinson, we wish you memories to cherish, knowledge of concern for his health his senior year at WPHS, and peace in knowing he will forever be remembered as a member of the Class of 2005.
