Ingeborg H. Guzik, 85, peacefully passed away on June 18th, 2016 after a brief battle with Cancer. She was born on November 7th 1930 to Rudolf and Johanna in Basel, Switzerland and was raised in Mannheim, Germany.
She met U.S serviceman Leonard Guzik, SFC U.S. Army, from Cleveland, OH. They married in Mannheim, Germany March of 1955. The two later divorced.
Ingeborg was almost a life long (49 years) resident of Security, Colorado and loved the mountain views that area affords. Raising four children as single working mother, many times taking any job available, she still found time to show her children the benefits of living in the beautiful Colorado Springs area. Taking the family on frequent outings to North Cheyenne canyon, Garden of the Gods, Prospect Lake, The Royal Gorge and Ski Broadmoor. All the while instilling an amazing work ethic into those very children. She was very proud of the fact that she became a citizen of the United States of America in 1981. One of her great pleasures was having Sunday afternoon coffee and cake with a close group of friends after church. She spent the last twelve years of her working career before retirement at Pikes Peak BOCES at a job she found immensely satisfying. Oma also had great pride in the accomplishments of her ten grandchildren. Later in life during her retirement she had the amazing privilege to travel extensively to many places, camping throughout Colorado and vacationing in Branson, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Mexico and Argentina.
Ingeborg was preceded in death by Leonard Guzik (1979) and her beloved rescued toy poodle, Schatzi (2015)
She is survived by her four children: Michael Guzik, Steven Guzik, Liza Guzik (Glommen), and Gary Guzik.
