Irene Pirnat Obituary

Irene F. Pirnat came into and blessed this world as the daughter of Michael and Louise (Runft) Folger on October 2, 1919, in Colorado Springs, CO. Irene not only grew up in Colorado Springs, but also lived her entire 87 years here as well. Irene was the first of three generations to graduate from Colorado Springs High School (now Palmer High) and attended Blair Business College. Irene worked at the Exchange National Bank as a teller and later as one of the few women in the bookkeeping department. Throughout her entire life, Irene displayed a winning smile that won over the hearts of many, including her husband, Philip Pirnat. Irene also had a passion for music and enjoyed playing the violin during her school career and occasionally playing for her young children as well. She was also an avid reader and passed both of these loves on to her children. Irene was dedicated to her faith and was a member the 1st United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Pirnat, whom she married upon his return from World War II on October 21, 1945. They enjoyed over 50 loving years together. Also preceding Irene was her sister Margaret Klein. Irene is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Janet (Ralph) Martinez of Colorado Springs, Dr. Martin (Charlotte) Pirnat of Durango, CO, and Paul (Joyce) Pirnat of Craig, CO. Surviving grandchildren are: Scott Kircher of Colorado Springs, Brian Kircher of Bellevue, WA, Michael (Liz) Pirnat of Westlake, OH, Storm (Edd) Fallon of Craig, CO, and Rain (Kerry) Williams of Brookhaven, MS, Glenda Lepulu and Rita Miller of Colorado Springs. Great grandchildren include Cody Fallon, Trace Fallon, and Sean Fallon, all of Craig CO, James Martinez, Alexandra Lepulu, Natasha Lepulu, Carlos Lepulu and great great grandson, Nathanial Martinez, all of Colorado Springs.
