Irene Pompea Obituary

Irene loved life. She always saw the best in people and had a smile to share. She loved learning and we were proud of her when she graduated from UCCS in 1976 at age 51! She would want to be remembered as someone who was kind; thinking of others, a bibliophile, world traveler, writer, great Ukrainian cook, Mother, Grandmother and Great grandmother. But most of all, a friend. We love her and we'll miss her! Please donate to Pikes Peak Hospice, Curiosity Unlimited Scholarship (UCCS) or to a charity that she would love.

What a kind, smiling, loving woman. I loved the Obit - it captured the Irene we knew and loved dearly for 30 years or so. I remember her teaching us to do the Ukrainian Easter Eggs, giving us the WONDERFUL apple cake at Christmas, and all the neat little gifts throughout the years. The yearly birthday card and Valentine's card from Loveland! She is truly missed, but I know partying in Heaven! Remember her 60th? Love and prayers to you all, especially Sue and Nicholas.

I was incredibly sad to learn of Mrs. Pompea's passing. She was definitely a blessing on Trent Ave. as we were all kids growing up. She was so sweet and kind. I still remember her reaching out when my dad passed in 2005. My thoughts are with you now.

All of Irene's children:

Please accept my deepest sympathies. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead. I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many, many, many of your Mom's friends are with you at this time of sorrow.

May your memories of her bring you comfort.

My favorite memory of "Aunt" Irene will be her generosity and bright smile for anyone in her presense.

In time all your memories will bring you comfort.

Please think of your mom as she looks down upon you from heaven.

She is truely happy now that whe is with "her Ed" once again.

Even though we were lucky enough to have her for 81 years, it still wasn't enough.

She lived, she loved, she laughed!
Aloha!
