Dear Rosalyn,
I was deeply saddened to read of Irving's death. I recall the satisfying years in the early 1960s when Irving and I worked together on twistor memories at Bell Labs in Allentown and at Western Electric in Columbus where the memories were made. The work was interesting, challenging, and satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Irving.
Twistor memories were a basic building block of the Electronic Switching Systems used by telephone companies. Irving was in the advance guard of the cohort which eventually gave us the Internet, the lap top computer, and the cell phone. I know you and your family are proud of Irving for his accomplishments.
Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
