Isaias Quintana Obituary

Isaias A. Quintana, a Colorado Springs resident since 1978, passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2007. He was born April 10, 1931 in San Pablo, CO to Bernadino and Amada (Martinez) Quintana. He married Anna Hupp on July 16, 1962 in Germany. Isaias served in the US Army for over thirty years. While on active duty he earned the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 9 Bronze Service Stars, Bronze Star with 4th Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Commendation Medal with 4th Oak Leaf Cluster for heroism, Meritorious Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal with 9th award, two Purple Hearts for wounds received in action in Vietnam and the Legion of Merit for service overseas and stateside. He is survived by his wife, Anna; his brother, Benino Quintana of Alamosa; sisters, Clory Medina of Fresno, CA, Bertha Martinez of Denver, Nellie Schwankee of Livingston, Montana, Lucinda Martinez of San Francisco, CO and Erina Quintana of Livingston, Montana; and several nieces, nephews and their families. A memorial service is planned for Monday, June 4, 2007 at 11AM at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. Hwy 85/87, Fountain.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family and love ones of 1SGT Quintana, he helped me adjust to serving overseas and missing my family. I was his Clerk in Schweifurt Germany. Top helped me get my wife and child there. I will never forget his wise counsel, I am not good at putting words together that I want to say. I will never ever forget you Top.
