Ivan Drummond Obituary

Ivan John Drummond passed away peacefully on December 7, 2008 at his home in Colorado Springs. At his bedside were his family and Odyssey Hospice. Ivan was born June 13, 1924 in Toronto, Canada, son of Scottish immigrants William and Agnes Drummond. The family immigrated to the Bronx, New York. He was married for 58 years to Anne Marie Maul, of Dietzenbach Germany, who survives him. Ivan retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant after 28 years of service. He was a highly decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a survivor of the Normandy Invasion. He is survived by his wife, Anne; three daughters, Ivana "Evonne" Young (Hal) of Black Forest, CO, Deirdre Drummond of Colorado Springs, and Alita-Jo Gotwald (Donald) of Colorado Springs; and two sons, John Drummond (Rebecca) of Golden, CO and William Drummond of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Erin, Lauren, Sean (Ivana), Michaela, Daniel, MacKenzie, Drew (Alita), Keenan and Elijah (John). Ivan was predeceased by sister Irene Burke and brother Stanley Drummond. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 pm, Saturday, Dec. 13 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4125 Constitution Ave., Colorado Springs, Pastor Doug Brauner officiating. He was a friend to everyone and had the greatest wit and sarcasm. He always told us "everything was beautiful". He will be sorely missed.
