Aunt Ivona was my other Mother, and I loved her dearly. She was so very special to our family. When we all lived in Idaho, she kept our 2 youngest boys on occasion and always had stories to tell about some of the crazy things they did and she would just laugh and laugh. I will look forward to greeting you in heaven, too.
Love, Ann Carnes

Aunt Ivona and Uncle Ted were both so very dear to our family -- and, indeed, we and they became family to each other when we lived in Nampa, Idaho. I spent countless hours on their farm and Ivona became my mother's surrogate mother during that time and over the many subsequent years, and was a dear confidant to her -- and the loss of Ivona is particularly felt by my mother, Ann Carnes.
Ivona also became a confidant to me over the past 15 years, and her insights, quick wit, and perspectives on life were always refreshing, honest, and offered with love. I always looked forward to either visiting her in person, or speaking with her on the phone, and her loss is like having a significant part of my life ripped away.
She was a lovely and loving person who blessed all who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will be sorely missed. At least she is now rejoined with Ted.
I love you, Aunt Ivona.

I loved visiting with Ivona. She loved to talk and enjoyed visitors so much. At Christmas time, I was on a caroling crew from First Christian Church. After we sang Jingle Bells, she told us a story about actually riding in a one-horse open sleigh when she was a child. That was fun.
