J.B. Senter Obituary

November 14, 1913 - June 2, 2008 J. B. Senter, Sr. age 94, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1917, passed away suddenly on June 2, 2008 at a local hospital. He was retired after 35 years as a Field Superintendent for Colorado Interstate Gas Company. John Burdett Senter was born on November 14, 1913 in Dallas, Texas to the late John Samuel and Fannie (Raney) Senter. He went to grade school in Colorado Springs, high school in Clayton, New Mexico and attended Oklahoma University. He married Maxine E. Roberts on September 20, 1935 in Clayton. Maxine passed away in 2005. They were married for over 69 years. He was a member of Lions International and the C.I.G. Retirement Club. He is survived by his sons: John B. (wife, Darlene) Senter, Jr. of Colorado Springs; and Charles L. (Jyleen) Senter of Aurora, Colorado; his grandchildren: Michelle Creery, Laurie Bentley, Monique Valletta, Kellie Brown and Charles L. Senter, II. He is also survived by Linda Brandhuber, Nancy Huther and fourteen great-grandchilren. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sisters: Jewel Graham and Lena Naylor. A visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum.
