J. Trytten Obituary

J. Perry Trytten, died May 6, 2009 in Colorado Springs. Mr. Trytten was born December 11, 1922, in Decorah, Iowa, to John M. and Anne Wist Trytten, who are deceased. He was married May 25, 1943, to Joyce Haworth Trytten, who was a realtor and a high school English teacher. He is survived by his brother, Grover Trytten; two sons, Joe P. Trytten and Steven Trytten; two daughters, Emily Trytten and Anne Trytten; and three grandchildren. Perry was preceded in death by his wife Joyce; two brothers, John Trytten and Richard Trytten; and one grandson. Perry earned his BA and MBA at the University of Michigan and was a Certified Public Accountant and financial executive. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, earning many medals, including two Navy Crosses for his missions in WWII. He was actively involved in the community, donating his services to Kiwanis and the Foundation Board of his church, First United Methodist. Perry was also known for his beautiful and thought-provoking poetry. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave., with a reception afterwards. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
