Jack Kleinert Obituary

Jack Edward

Kleinert

November 28, 1949

January 14, 2022

Jack Edward Kleinert, age 72, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2022. Jack was born in Bridgeport, Nebraska on November 28, 1949 to Gloria Chadwick. He was later adopted by Clarence Edward Kleinert whom he considered his father. He was raised in Sidney, Nebraska until the age of 17, at which point the family moved to Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from East High School in Pueblo in 1968.

Jack served in the United States Air Force from 1971-1974 and obtained the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Airforce Good Conduct Medal.

On March 23, 1974 he married the love of his life Barbara Burton at McGuire Airforce base in New Jersey. With the support of his loving family, he continued his education, earning a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Bridgeport Engineering Institute, Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1980, and a Master's in Business Administration from Regis College, Denver, Colorado in 1986.

After receiving his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering Jack, Barb and family moved to Colorado Springs where he worked for Honeywell until 1984. He then worked at Ford Aerospace from 1984 until 1988. Jack and his family then moved to Northern Virginia where he worked at SAIC from 1988-2000. In 2000 Jack and Barbara returned to Colorado Springs to be near family and Jack worked at Raytheon until his retirement. Throughout his career, he held numerous Project Manager positions. He was passionate about his work. Jack was also a member of MENSA and during college he was the President of the local chapter of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Most recently, he was a member of the Emmaus Anglican Church.

Jack loved science fiction, and was inspired to become an engineer by the works of Isaac Asimov. He also loved Star Trek, Star Wars, and Babylon 5, and was an avid reader of sci-fi books. Jack utilized both sides of his brain in his interests, be it working on a project for work, or using his creative side towards his passion for woodworking. Jack was the most caring person you would ever want to meet. He loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was highly intelligent, funny, compassionate, and was always ready and willing to help anyone who asked him. Everyone would agree that he was a loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who was always supportive of people's dreams and aspirations.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife of almost 48 years, Barbara; his son Scott Kleinert and wife Brianne of Buena Vista, VA and Jack's grandsons Bryson and Colton; and daughter Christie Maszkiewicz and husband Steven of Bahama, North Carolina and Jack's granddaughter Cierra. Jack is also survived by his brother Dan "Joe" Kleinert (and wife Mady) and sister Keri Lynne Leiting (and husband Randy). Also surviving are nephews Steven, Doug and Kyle and nieces Jenni, Autumn, Katie, and Robyn; and beloved cousin Sherry Engleberg. Jack was preceded in death by his father and mother Clarence and Gloria Kleinert.

A public memorial service for Jack will be held on February 26, 2022 at 11:00am at the Emmaus Anglican Church in Castle Rock, Colorado.
