Jack Day Lewis departed this world on Wednesday, 11 May 2022 just two weeks shy of this 70th birthday at his home in Fountain, CO.
Jack was born on 26 May 1952 in the "West Side" of Colorado Springs. As a young man he excelled as a local athlete, especially enjoying the game of baseball. His adult life was devoted to leadership, public service, and improving quality of life for his community. Jack served as Assistant City Manager of Golden, CO; County Manager for Eagle County; City Manager of Salida, and Black Hawk, CO; Chairman of the Board for Vail Valley Medical Center; Vice President of Development for Jackson Hole Mountain Resort; and concluded his career as a bus driver for Fountain / Fort Carson District 8. Wherever he was, and whatever he did, Jack was loved, respected, and appreciated by all.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Mae Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathryn Marie Lewis (nee Bott); his father, A.R. Lewis; his siblings, Randy, Susan, and Jerry; his children, Chelsey & her husband John Goggin, Daniel, Gracey & her husband Nathan Wike; and by his seven grandchildren.
The Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:00 am with the Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 626 Aspen Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80911 at 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

Jack always seemed to be the epitome of youth. His stature and appearance had a great impact on those who knew him. He was a great friend in high school who seemed to always say the right things, regardless of the circumstances. I truly appreciated his friendship, especially during all the high and low sports moments we shared. Rest in Peace Jack! You will never be forgotten. My condolences to the Lewis family.
