Jackson Stewart Obituary

My beloved best friend, Jackson Anthony Stewart born January 14, 1962 in Kingsport, Tennessee departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior January 28, 2011. Jackson leaves behind his wife who loved and adored him Kimberly Ann Stewart, daughter Madison, stepdaughter Megan Dahlin and stepson Jason Dahlin all from Colorado Springs along with his mother Joyce Stewart, father Bill(Diane) Stewart, sister Donna (Guenther) Wadewitz, brothers Larry (Rhonda) and Gary(Karen) Stewart and numerous nieces and nephews all from out of state. Jackson also leaves behind his dear friend Bill Koch who always said that Jackson was the brother he never had. Jackson served in the Navy in Desert Storm and was an accomplished Physician Assistant. Jackson was currently employed at Peterson Air force base in the Flight Medicine Clinic with previous positions at Fort Carson and ExpressCare Plus. Jackson was loved by many and will be missed by many. A celebration of Jackson's life will be held Friday, February 4th, 2011 from 11-2 at the Townhomes at Rockrimmon in the Clubhouse 252 W. Rockrimmon Blvd. Please come with stories to tell about Jackson and wear Bronco's colors if you have them. I doubt to many of you have the Tennessee Volunteer colors but if you do please wear that. Let this be a time of celebration of all the goodness that Jackson brought into our lives.

I have some great memories from Tennessee because of Jack! We'll miss him.

I still miss you Jack and always will. You were my "little brother" and even though as adults we lived far away from each other, there was always a connection.

You were my first "child" as I mothered you so much when you were little. Poor boy, how you stood that, I don't know! You also always took the blame as the baby because if the rest of us couldn't find something we would say "Jack did it or lost it." You worked hard, putting yourself through college and PA school and made lots of good friends. Family and friends were important to you. Jack, I can't wait to see you again because I know I will. You are more alive today than you ever were on this earth! I love you always, Your "big" sister, Donna

I received a notice that this was about to expire. I'm Jacks cousin Janie who lives in Alabama. Jack was younger than most of us cousins growing up in a East Tenn he was the baby. We grew up in a farm and his crotchets a Larry Garry and Donna , his sister were around a lot as our Mothers were sisters. Larry or Garry one shot threw the guiding we called a play house and hit me in the temple with a bee bee. Using MY bee bee gun. I know Jack had it rough growing up with those two! He learned to be tough and strong as he was. I wanted to see him when my husband Tom and I came west through Colorado. I knew he was there working and I felt a real connection to him as I worked at East Tn and Bham VAMC. I am so proud of the man he became. I love my Aunt Joyce with all of my heart She and A Betty are the two last children from Hattie Irvin and Lon Jones. You are in my heart Jack and I know deep in my soul what a strong tough moral person you were because that is how our Mothers raised us and our Fathers backed them up if needed. I love you cousin!

Its taken me this long to even be able to think about you without breaking down cousin. Miles came between us physically but NEVER in my heart. You were the MOST WONDERFUL LOVING KIND DECENT & FUNNY man, ALWAYS, just like Papaw Stewart. You were selfless, like Jesus, ever putting others over yourself. Like wearing your uniform to visit my kids because they supported the soldiers...they still remember you as "soldier man"!! God so BLESSED me with a cousin as AMAZING as you & you in turn flowed that BLESSING into my life in countless ways. THANK YOU. I LOVE YOU JACK & CAN'T WAIT TO TELL YOU AS MUCH WHEN AGAIN I GET TO SEE YOU IN HEAVEN. GOD BLESS & BE WITH YOUR FAMILY

Jack was always very special to me. He always had a very kind heart and was there for his father no matter what, always smiling and happy go lucky... just like his father. I am so sorry Uncle Bill and Aunt Diane for the loss of your son/stepson. Just remember that you will see him again someday. Psalm 30:5 Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

We always saw your wonderful smile,
and heard your musical refrains;
Unfortunately we never dreamt,
that we'd never see you again.

So when we think about your life (Jackson),
we won't dwell upon its close;
We'll (just) remember all the good times,
all your friends, and all your bro’s.

We'll remember all the happiness,
the joy and all the fun;
Your assurances and your confidence,
And that bad time’s, we had none.

And laugh - we did laugh often,
for good times there were plenty;
With jokes and songs and bourbon and beer,
and a glass that was never half-empty.

I loved you like a brother,
just like the one I never had;
Every part of all our time together,
will make me forever glad!

So yes, I had to change my poem.
to make it in your guest-book;
I hope that all your loved ones,
can now all take a look.

God Bless you Jackson Stewart.

Dear Jack,
I love you Brother. I know the difficulties and complexities of the miles may have clouded this love, but you will always be a part of my heart, and I will cherish the memories we had together of the past and the present. You always affectionately called me a "guber". I still an not sure what this means but I will always be honored to be your "guber" brother!
I am so grateful that my whole family was able to visit with you and your wonderful wife Kimberly this past May. We enjoyed seeing the mountains in Estes Park, bowling, and singing songs while you played the guitar. Stephanie, Zachary, Daniel, Bethany, Rhonda and I were grateful for the stuffed animals when you visited with us in TX after Desert Storm. The stuffed critters are still around the house.
Yur life touched so many through the military, medical, missions, sports, and music. You made so many good choices in life: 1) marrying Kimberly, 2. loving and providing for and taking Madison, your precious daughter to church, 3. making lasting friendships, 4. spending time with family, 5. and most importantly, trusting in Jesus as your Savior. You have left a wonderful heritage of reaching out with love, kindness, laughter, joy, and encouragement. You will always be remembered and missed.
As you know, for those who have trusted in Christ, life is a brief pilgrimage; we are only here for a short while and then pass on to be with our loving Lord for all eternity in heaven. What a glorious vista that awaits us, and one which you have now passed through! I am grateful God never changes even though circumstances do and that His love was with you and carried you into His eternal presence.
We will continue to pray for Kimberly and Madison, for God's blessing and protection and for Madison to know how much you truly loved her.
I love you and look forward to spending eternity with you, praising and worshipping our Savior Jesus Christ. Keep your guitar tuned.
Your loving brother (Guber),
Larry

I want to make sure this entry is listed. I am Jack's first cousin. Our mohters were close sisters as were all the Jones sisters. Jack was loved by all our family. I had not seen him in many years but my sister Nancy Jo visited with him in East Tenn a few years ago. He and Madison were visiting family. She had so many wonderful things to say about him and his love for Madison. We know he loved working in Guadamala with missionary work and dreamed of taking Maddie. Our love for him will remain steadfast as a family and we know he is with our relatives who are with God. We know they are rejoicing at his presence. Janie

Jackson only came into our lifes a short time ago but it didn't take long to know how much him & Kim loved each other. I'll always remember his face when he saw the size of Champs Mile High Mud Pie, he didn't believe it was as big as I said it was. We enjoyed the few times we hung out. Jackson you will be soo missed. Kimmie I want you know we will always be here for you, anytime of day. Your friends love you & we will not leave you.

My dear little brother Jack. How can I say how much I miss you and love you. You would always pick me up and say "Hi big sister" with a laugh because you were so much taller than me. I know you are with Jesus and one day I'll see you again but it will be hard to wait and I will miss you every day until then. I regret not being a better sister to you but I know you loved me anyway. Forever family, Donna
