Jacqueline Newsom Obituary
Jackie was born in Los Angeles, California on December 12, 1984. She graduated from Liberty High School in 2003 and pursued a career in finance. Jackie worked as a Teller at Wells Fargo while continuing her education in Business at Everest College.
Jackie loved life! Her trademark smile brought sunshine to a rainy day. She enjoyed crafts, family, playing games with her daughter and helping everyone she encountered. She had a great sense of humor and loved being a daughter, mother, sister, and friend. Jackie exemplified courage with grace through her faith and remained active until God whispered to her it was time for her to rest. Jackie was a living testimony of God's work for building relationships and connecting generations.
She is survived by her Parents Tommy and Theresa Newsom, Daughter Sariah, fiancé, Tony Jefferson Jr. and his daughter, Olivia, Brothers: Tommy Newsom II, Daniel Freeman, Sisters:(twin) Stephanie Newsom Curry (Scott), Niesha Freeman, Ernell Freeman, Angela Hall, Bobbie Alexander, and Malinda Freeman, grandparents: Annette White and Nathaniel White (Anne), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church located at 3615 Vickers Drive in Colorado Springs. A celebration of life meal will be provided at Emmanuel Baptist Church following the graveside service. Final resting place will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, or the Breaking the Chains of Cancer Jacqueline Newsom fund.
The family of Jacqueline Arlene Newsom wishes to thank the Emmanuel Family, Mike and Tonya Bonner, Adrienne McMillian, Rhonda Arrington, Pikes Peak Hospice Staff, the Martinez Elementary School Community, co-workers, and a host of friends and family in and beyond the Colorado Springs community for continued prayers, hugs, words of encouragement and on-going support.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by All Veterans Funeral Services.
