James Bates Obituary
Jim earned numerous noteworthy accomplishments after he retired from being in charge of Community Development for the City of Colorado Springs. Jim was strong in his Christian faith as he served his local church and many other faith based organizations with dignity and pride.
He is survived by his wife, Annmarie; his son, Kevin (Michele) Bates; his daughter, Denise Flynn; his brothers, Gerald (Darlynn) Bates, and David (Joyce) Bates; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-granddaughters.
Memorial Services, 3:00PM , Wednesday, March 16, 2016, New Life Church Campus- World Prayer Center in Colorado Springs, 11005 Voyager Pkwy, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jim Bates Memorial Fund in care of Wells Fargo Bank, 8620 North Union Boulevard 80920.

As we become entangled in our daily events, many times the important things and people in our lives skip right past our conscious mind, but are forever in our hearts. Eventually our heart catches up with our mind and such is the case for me with the passing of Mr. (James) Bates. The kindest, most gentle, and loving man I have known, father to my great friends Kevin and Denise and loving and adoring husband of Annmarie. I can't express how much sadness I feel for the entire Bates family, however, I know that your strong faith and deep love will guide you through your loss. Nonetheless my heart goes out to his wonderful family, his children and his grandchildren. All my love - Norm
