James Betsch Obituary

July 17, 1933 - July 8, 2008 James L. Betsch departed this life on July 8th, 2008 at the age of 74. Born July 17th, 1933, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served with honor for twenty years, as a Radioman and Psychiatric Counselor. After traveling around the country, Jim settled in Colorado Springs to be with family. Known as "Jimbo" to his friends, he had a great love of jazz and lived a simple life, cherishing every gift, no matter how big or small. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Gideon and Bernice Betsch and leaves behind two aunts, Florence Betsch of North Dakota and Eleanor Betsch of California, a multitude of family and friends who will cherish him in their memories forever. The family requests that any memorials be directed to: Pikes Peak Jazz and Swing Society, P. O. Box 6802, Colorado Springs, CO. 80934
