It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James Randall Breeding on June 18, 2024. Born May 28th, 1949 to Marshall and Valda "Mickie" Breeding. He is predeceased by his parents and younger sister Ann Owen. He is survived by his daughter Samantha Breeding and his grand puppy Raiin, as well as his brothers Don Breeding and Todd Breeding, along with several nieces and nephews. He was born and raised in Colorado Springs. After graduating from Palmer High School, he moved to Abilene, Texas to further his education; graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Abilene Christian College then returning back to his hometown. After college, he began his career with the CPAs at The Rocky Mountain Greyhound Park and working with Colorado Springs Park and Rec before finding the bulk of his career as The City Auditor of Colorado Springs. When he wasn't working or with his family, you often found him playing a round of golf or casting a fishing line. So for those of you who golf or fish, the next round you play, hit a ball with his name on it or cast a fishing line in honor of the person we fondly know as Randy.

Mr Breeding,
Thank you for letting me be a part of your life. We're going to miss you that's all I can say. Don't worry we haven't given up the fight yet. Whenever we ever needed advice you've always been there always encouraged us to do things that we weren't sure what to do. Sam's going to miss you big time but it's okay I know you're here in spirit. If I could have let anybody else be my Dad it would have been you. I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart but for letting me be a part of your life let alone your families life. Whenever we thought that we couldn't go no further you encouraged us to keep going no matter if we knew what we were doing or not. I think you again Mr breeding love always your face.......Jennifer and Johnny.

Randy and I bowled, then played fast pitch softball together. We took up Golf next and we were partners for 50 years. When moving to Albuquerque, Randy flew down to do my taxes as he had done for many years. Then we ate at the BEST Mexican Restaurants and of course, played golf. Randy was like a brother to me and was a big part of my life. He was a man of integrity, and he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, my friend.

I spent many years fishing with Randy at Eleven Mile Reservoir at our friend Mike Hendrick's cabin. We relied on Randy's ability to back our boat out of and into the garage and backing it into the reservoir. He was a great fisherman and an avid Rockies fan. We enjoyed his comments about them, often bringing a smile to our faces. Randy was a man of few words, but when it came to fishing he could read the water and guide us to the fish. Mike and I were glad to share a lunch with Randy on the Friday before his passing. As always, the conversation revolved around fishing and the times we spent. We cherished that time with him. May he rest in peace in the great fishing river in heaven.

Remember Randy Breeding from a couple of summers working summer baseball and softball grounds crew at Memorial Park. At that time I was also a college student. He was friendly, humorous and accommodating coworkers as we prepared the fields for play. May he now Rest In Eternal Peace.
