James Cronin Obituary
March 17, 1911 - Oct. 1, 2012
101 1/2 years young, born in Chicago, IL. "Gentleman Jim" died Monday in Ventura County, CA and will be missed forever. Jim was preceded in death by his parents James J. & Margaret "Pearl" (nee Gilhuly) Cronin; & siblings Frank and Mary of Chicago, IL. He attended Northwestern Univ. & was a traveling auditor. Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 15, 1942 & after service as a Master Sergeant in North Africa, Italy and France was honorably discharged October, 1945. Survivors include son Patrick and daughter-in-law Ana of Moorpark, CA; daughter Kathy of North Hollywood, CA; step-daughter Iralee of Rockford, IL & granddaughters Jamie Carganilla & Bambi Tyler; grandsons Russ & Joe of IL & great-granddaughters Sierra & Lindsey Tyler of Santa Rosa, CA. He would have wanted to say a special thank you to Pat & Ana for welcoming him into their home & daily lives with love and open arms.
Per his request, there will be no services at his burial in Illinois.

Daddy, I will miss the times that we used to talk about our week, and now I can't tell you all my adventures. I wish there was a direct phone line to heaven. I am sure your Irish Eyes are smiling down on us knowing how much we all will miss you and all your wise advise and support you have given us all.
