James D. Croft Obituary

James Croft died Sunday evening, at his home in Colorado Springs. He was 58 year old. Though born in Oswego, New York, he ultimately made Colorado Springs his final home.

Although he battled nearly his entire life with deep depression, he was a very kind and loving man. He was a poet, an author, a musician. More importantly, he was a father, a grandfather, a brother, a husband, an uncle, and a friend.

Although he served in the Navy, his greatest and most challenging role was that of a parent. He raised his children to love and accept all people, and give as good as they got. He was the best person to turn to when you need a comforting word, sound advice, or a shoulder to cry on. He gave others strength, even when he felt he didn't have much for himself. He gave wisdom. Most of all, he gave love.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Lillian Croft of New York, and his brother Jerry Croft, also of New York.

He leaves behind a loving wife, Vickry T. Kayser, daughters Erin, Lucinda, and Aislinn Croft, and son, Austin Croft. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Andrezjewsi and Laurel Bengochea. Although his vessel is gone from this world, he will forever live on in all of the memories of those that love him. He will be there in every heart he has touched. He will continue to share his great love and wisdom through those he helped through their own trials.

James Croft died Sunday, May 15, 2016 of a massive heart attack. And now, his watch has ended.

I love you grandpa, I wish you were still here, and I wish I was there that day when you passed on the swingset. I miss you. Mom-aislinn croft-, and I love you and think of you every day.

My friend and brother, who accepted me as I am. An intelligent, patient and loving human being whose calm nature I will always admire. Four years since you left us. Still think about all the great times we shared playing guitar. Your brother always.

To my brother in life and death, you will be missed. We were friends since 1973 and shared some of life's most important events. Your enthusiasm led me to learn to play guitar; one of the most satisfying accomplishments of my life. We played in two bands together; your calm, intelligence, and logical oversight kept things together. Always admired that. Little do the people that just passed through your life know how important you were to so many. Me being one who appreciated your wisdom and calm. Love you Brother...Till we jam again.
