James Davis Obituary

James Ramon
Davis
June 27, 1938
September 22, 2022

Jim was a good man; a loving husband, father, and grandfather; and a friend to all. He enjoyed riding his bike, being with family, telling jokes, dancing, and serving others. Jim retired from Hewlett Packard after 38 years. He was a regular volunteer at his Church and at Marian House Food Kitchen.

Jim is survived by his wife of 60 year, Nancy; his daughters, Jamie Odell (Riley) and Jennifer Christensen (Cortney); and grandchildren, Ayla Christensen and Seth Maxwell.

He was predeceased by his parents and daughters, Polly Davis and Christy Maxwell.

Jim's funeral is scheduled at St Patrick's Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Drive, Colorado Springs, on October 20th at 10:30 A.M., followed by a Celebration of Jim's Life Reception in the Church Hall. All Jim's friends are invited. THE FAMILY REQUESTS PRAYERS BUT NO FLOWERS.

I was blessed to know Jim as a fellow Knight of Columbus and volunteer at the Marian House for many years-what a pleasure it was to serve with him! Finally, Jim has a terrific sense of humor with a great repertoire of jokes that left you laughing. May he rest in everlasting peace with the angels in Paradise!

I remember Jim from Holy Trinity and HP. He was devoted husband and father and a terrific colleague. I also remember that he had a joy for life and was a wonderful dancer. I remember one day at work 47 years ago, he approached me and said "I've seen you at church three times now with the same guy - what's going on?" Jim - I'm still going to church with the same guy.

Jim was always a joy to work with at HP. However, I most remember when we first got to know him at Holy Apostles. Our kids thought he was Abe Lincoln, I think he enjoyed that when I told him.
He'll always be remembered and it was a privilege to have known him. Truly blessed.

Jim was always present at our K of C activities, whether helping with a fish fry or breakfast, attending social activities, passing out Tootsie Rolls for mentally challenged fundraisers, or telling humorous stories. One never felt uncomfortable "hanging" with Jim, and I would count him as one of those who are examples of what a Christian and Knight of Columbus should be.

I worked with Jim in HP-CRT. Jim was the happy part of everyone's day at work. Jim was a devoted family man that was well respected. God Bless Nancy and his family.

My best memories of Jim were when we worked together in CRT. He always managed to add some cheer to a dismal situation.
