James Douglas Obituary

December 16, 1933 - November 22, 2008
Jim was born on December 16, 1933 in Altadena, California, and passed away peacefully on November 22, 2008. He was a Colorado Springs, Colorado resident for the past 17 years. After a 27-year career with Xerox Corporation, Jim took an early retirement to come to Colorado and develop The Hideaway, a retreat and conference center, where the family has served the community and ministries from around the world. Jim is survived by his wife, Gale; sons, Jason and Scott, and daughters, Debi and Kim. He was blessed ith 11 beautiful grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his two sisters and brother. A memorial service will be held at Tri-Lakes Chapel in Monument at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2008 with a reception following at The Hideaway, 3805 Walker Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908. Memorial contributions in Jim's memory may be made to the Uganda Family Support Initiative, P.O. Box 64252, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80962-4252 Attn: Richard Douglas. This is an orphanage stemming from one of the African boys Jim's parents raised and educated.
