Carol, Suzie and all of the family,
Mom told us about Jim's death a couple of days ago. Our lives have changed as well, as my Dad passed away just after midnight on Tuesday. West siders have to stick together! Once a West sider, always a west sider.

Jim and I went through 13 years of school together. He lived 1/2 block away and his mom was my first Cub Scout Den Mother. I will miss seeing him at our 5oth. reunion.

I am so sad to hear about Jim. I will never forget the summers when you guys would come visit at Grandma's house. Jim was always so funny and Grandma loved him so much. I know my mom is having a hard time. He was like a brother to her and he will be greatly missed. I will keep each one of you in my prayers.

We have known Jim, Carol and their family for 30 some years. There has never been a day we weren't lucky and proud to know them. Having been family as well as friends with the Gearharts have made our lives richer and fuller. We want the Gearhart family to know they are in our thoughts and prayers. Jim will be missed and forever in our memories.

I've known Jim since our very young days when we lived on the West Side. We were in West Jr High together. When Jim was with CSPD, I would call dispatch and they would set up a meet and we would tell cop stories over coffee. I was a California Highway Patrolman. We would meet at the reunions and match family stories and talk about "the day". I will miss Jim and he will be remembered as a gentle giant. We will miss him at our 50th reunion. God Bless, you are in our prayers.
