As a kid growing up in Dodge City, I knew James as either Jimmy or Peter---but especially Jimmy. He was very patient with me and my siblings and no trip to the Gunn's house would be complete without bugging him for some left-over car model parts. My condolences to the entire Gunn family and to anyone who never knew his wonderful spirit.

My fiance and I lived next door to Mr. Gunn. He was great and we miss him dearly. He was always helping us out with everything and it's very quite now, we all miss him and send love to his whole family!

To Peter's family.....I am so saddened by your loss. "Peter" Gunn was a great addition to our class. Never an enemy, always a friend and never a dull moment. I remember him having a locker next to mine when we were freshmen. I kept getting little notes inside my locker signed "the Fang". It took me a long while to find that they were from Pete. He will be missed by many.

I never had the pleasure of meeting James, but his son Dave is one of the most amazing people I've ever known. It seems that his dad was a big part of how he got to be that way. My condolences on the Gunn family's loss.

Dave, Michael, Randy and family; It doesn't seem right that the world is without James Peter Gunn. There are theories to work on, perhaps something to fly, certainly something to think about long and oddly -- all missing now without him. Condolences to all of you, and thanks to Pete for always sharing. I'll miss him.
