SFC James Dale "JD" Hill, U.S. Army (Ret.) of Yuba City, California, passed away at age 75 in his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
JD served in the United States Army from October 5, 1966 and retired November 1, 1986. While serving, he was awarded several service medals, but nothing made him prouder than his medals awarded from his three campaigns served in Vietnam.
He was also a professional Bull Rider and earned the title of the 1984 European Bull Riding Champion. After retiring from the Army, he attended culinary school and graduated top of his class in Culinary Arts and Food Business Management.
JD is survived by his wife, Man "Sue"; sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
JD will be laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.

Jim and I were in shop class with Mr. Hills. Played football with him and had many other classes with him. He was a very helpful person. I enjoyed his personality. Sad to here of his moving on. Also happy to know he is out of this imperfect world with all of the nut jobs that are here. I was ready to go to the war but couldn´t pass the physical. We will see him again and sooner that most think. Happy memories & Thank you for your service!

The RAO is staffed by volunteers, all military retirees themselves, and our sole purpose is to provide assistance to any military retirees and surviving spouses/family members with anything related to their military service and/or benefits, in particular during difficult times such as this.
