James Hogan Obituary

Jim went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2011. He was born in Minneapolis MN on September 27, 1926 to Thomas and Marguerite Hogan. Jim served his country during WWII as a paratrooper. He attended St. Paul Bible College in Minnesota, where he met Dolores (Dolly) Hula and were married February 25, 1950. He moved his family to Colorado Springs in 1963, as a custom homebuilder. Raising and showing German Shepherds was a favorite pastime, as well as fishing, hunting and spending time with family. Jim loved Jesus and studied his Bible faithfully serving his Lord as a Sunday school teacher, elder, leader in boys' brigade and choir member (he was Dolly's favorite tenor). Jim leaves behind his beloved wife, Dolly, and three children: Tom (Jennifer), Connie (Lynn) VanDyke, and Randy (Jan). He also leaves 6 grandchildren: Brad, Shad, Jenny, Cassie, Hannah, Maria; and seven great grandchildren: Parker, Camy, Ravyn, Sage, Bella, Josh and Scott. He has three siblings who also survive: Millie, Ruth (Bill), and Paul (Norma). Daughter-in-law, Kathy Hogan, preceded him in death. A celebration of his life will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2511 N. Logan Ave. on Saturday, December 17th at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the church or Pikes Peak Hospice.

We enjoyed many times with Jim. Socially, Bible Study, Meetings, work days, helping others, or just having a fun time. Jim was fun and always great to be around. He leaves us a great legacy.

Dear Hogan Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of this dear man. Jim was one of the kindest, sweetest men and now for Him to be whole and rejoicing with his Jesus is an amazing comfort. I am sure he will be missed by all. with love and sympathy, Brent and Louise Holtcamp

Jim will be greatly missed at Emeritus at Colorado Springs(formerly The Court). It was our pleasure to help care for him the last 9 months of his life. May the Lord bless and comfort your family as you remember the amazing man that Jim was and the impact that he made on this world.

Dear Hogan Family,

I was so sorry to hear about Jim. But, know he is in Heaven waiting for the rest of us.

When we refer to the people of that church – it's as if we are speaking about family. Whenever anyone was hurting – we all hurt. Even though I moved from Colorado Springs many years ago, I still have wonderful memories of special people there.

Dolly, please know you are all in my Prayers.

We were so sorry to hear of Mr. Hogans passing.
I would like everyone to know that he was very instrumental in my life and the path that I chose as a career.
His memory will always be cherished and I thank God for the opportunity to know such a wonderful man.

dearest dolly and family, I am so sorry to hear about Jim,but of course we know where he is and is now free of all pain. I wish I could get to the service but we do not have any transportation. May God hold you in HIs arms and give you the peace that only He can give. You are in our thoughts and of course in our prayers. Love in Christ, Diane Frasure and Family
