James Hyatte Obituary

First Sergeant (Retired) James G. Hyatte, devoted husband and father, died December 9, at Memorial Hospital. He was 83 years old. James was born in Chattanooga, TN, December 16, 1931. His mother Myrtle, grandparents Blevin and Lula predeceased him.

He enlisted in the US Army, December 17, 1948. He is a Korean War Veteran serving with the 816th Engineer Airborne Battalion from July 1950 thru July 1951. After his initial tour of duty, James reenlisted and continued his service to the Nation for over 24 years, retiring in August 1973.

After retiring from the Army, James worked as a federal government civilian employee for another 22 years, retiring a second time in 1995.

James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth; three sons Ronald, Donald and Bruce; daughter-in-law, Martha; granddaughter Deidre, great grandson Joshua and three nephews, Zachary, Vincent and Otis.

Memorial services will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO at 10:00 AM Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014.
