James C. Illian, 90, passed away March 16, 2023 in Colorado Springs.
He was born December 24, 1932 in Pierre, SD to Charles and Marie Illian.
James joined the Army from 1953 to 1955. He worked at Mountain Bell Communications for 32 yrs. After retirement, he worked at Agri Feed and the Boy Scouts Store.
He was involved with Boy Scouts for 50 yrs; awarded the Wood badge, Council Silver Beaver, and Lutheran Lamb Award. He attended two national scout Jamborees, as assistant Scoutmaster, and Scoutmaster.
James was a faithful servant of Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving many boards.
James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen M. Illian; children, Timothy Illian, Cheryl (Kris) Ceresoli, and Mark (Debby) Illian; 5 granddaughters; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 nephews; 1 niece; and several godchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, Charles and Marie Illian; sister, Anita McLeer; and brother, Rev. Donald Illian.
Memorial Service, 10:00AM, March 31, 2023, at The Springs Funeral Services.
